After aid suspension, USAID's future is in doubt as website goes offline

Aid groups were in crisis as the U.S. aid agency seemed to lose independence and be put on the chopping block.

WASHINGTON (AN) — Billionaire Elon Musk said U.S. President Donald Trump has agreed that the U.S. Agency for International Development should be dissolved.

Police officers and tape blocked USAID's headquarters from receiving staffers. “With regards to the USAID stuff, I went over it with (Trump) in detail and he agreed that we should shut it down,” Musk said on Monday.
