We believe trustworthy, factual information that serves the public good is worth paying for, which is why we are appealing to you to help support us. Our focus on international organizations reflects a belief that the future of our planet depends on cooperation, which, in turn, depends on having an informed public that can agree on a set of common facts to find solutions.

This promotion is valid for the next seven weeks in the runup to our seven-year publishing anniversary. We ran our first story – tracing the history of international organizations since the early 19th century – on May 23, 2018.

When I began Arete News, I wondered why there wasn't already a media platform dedicated to international organizations. I'd covered the U.N. from both sides of the Atlantic, and found that international organizations generate vast amounts of critical information daily. The post-World War II international order, though imperfect, established a rules-based framework for global cooperation and competition. Today, this system faces unprecedented challenges from a growing network of autocracies.

An intensifying information war erodes our shared reality, hindering cooperation on pressing global issues such as climate change, pandemics, and economic inequality. While social media influencers dominate public discourse, they often lack expertise. We're working hard to fill the gap in skilled coverage – and we would greatly appreciate your support.
