Pandemic treaty negotiations at U.N. health agency go 'down to the wire'

Talks entered the final hours for drafting a proposed accord to put to a vote in the World Health Assembly in May.

GENEVA (AN) — Negotiators raced to wrap up a proposed global agreement on handling future pandemics, with progress reported in the final hours.

The World Health Organization's Intergovernmental Negotiating Body had until the end of Friday to draft an agreement that could go to the 194-nation World Health Assembly for approval in May.
